| Case study: Variations on a theme - the TAP Solution answering different needs |
Allround's TAP Solution is deployed at various
telecom operators all over the world. Its success is based on its unique
architecture, modular approach and high reliability performance. In
the following we will look at TAP Solution implementations based on real-life
examples at two of our clients: Mobinil and Mascom. Although both operators deployed the same core solution, the implemented applications answer different needs. Mobinil is the leading mobile operator in Egypt and one of the biggest in the region with several millions of subscribers in a country that is one of the prime tourist destinations of the world. It operates on a well-saturated market, where competition is fierce. Mascom is a smaller yet innovative operator with a high potential for growth in a market still in the phase of rapid development. The aim of these operators is the same, independent of their technical background; they want to make use of the key revenue streams international roaming could provide them with. They need a solution that helps them cope with the challenges of the increasing roaming traffic without changing their existing and reliable billing systems and CDR processing workflow. That is exactly what ALLROUND's TAP Solution offers them to meet the requirements described above. Due to its modular architecture, the same solution can fit into the existing environment providing exactly the requested functionality. The major difference between the two architectures is the level of integration. In case of Mobinil, the TAP Solution is tightly integrated with the current billing system, while at Mascom it works more separately and in addition it takes over the roaming rating (IOT-based) functionality. However, as far as the core functionality is concerned, the two solutions are much the same as can be seen in the table above. An indication of their successful and reliable operations and their low support needs is that both solutions have already been extended with additional features (such as GPRS roaming support). |
